Walking in to a Reunion at Sincerity

It was 2009 when these four brothers decided to emulate one stage of a mammoth fund-raising walk which the late Noel O’Driscoll, WM of Tyndall Lodge, had undertaken back in 1987. So, in October of that year, and in his memory, Richard Harris, Steve Bullen and Phil Green of Tyndall Lodge and Bro Shaun Harris of Kingswood Chase Lodge walked the 112 miles from Cherbourg to Pegasus Bridge in Normandy. On Wednesday 3rd April these four brothers reunited at the Lodge of Sincerity in Stapleton. It has been several years since all four men have been together due to their various commitments but it was well worth the wait. It was a terrific reunion!   The purpose was for them to be part of the absent brethren toast from Phil Trotman, who was also proposed into masonry by the late Noel O’Driscoll.  Noel was a shining character in Gloucestershire freemasonry, having an enormous influence on so many people.

That year, this initiative, Supported by other well know Gloucestershire Brethren and other lodge fund raising events raised over £16,000 for the charity. A textbook demonstration of the principles of freemasonry, integrity, friendship, respect and service. Maybe there are Gloucestershire Freemasons reading this article that might pick up the torch and continue the legacy. Details of this years walk here.

We thank Dick Smith (One of the support crew) for highlighting this reunion and providing photographs.
