On Sunday, 23rd April, the Masters of Vassar Smith Lodge 2994, Neil Snook and Vale of Castiard Lodge 7186, David Kelly, both of which are based at Lydney in the Forest of Dean, joined forces to organise a St. Georges Day Pig Roast at Lydney Freemasons’Hall.

Some 80 people attended with Lodges across the Forest of Dean represented and enjoyed a great afternoon of food, drink and dancing whilst raising over £800 to be shared between the two Masters charities.

Entertainment was provided by Sonic Fire, a 5 piece band made up of Forest of Dean Freemasons; on drums Dave Cooksley, (Vassar Smith), on lead guitar and vocals Bob Thompson, (Vale of Castiard), on rhythm guitar and vocals Dave Buik, (Royal Forest of Dean), on bass guitar and vocals Colin Howley, (Vassar Smith) and lead vocalist David Kelly.

Both Neil and David were “over the moon” with the support shown for the event and the generosity of those attending.
