Seven Springs Charity Shoot – Hits the Target

Seven Springs Lodge held a charity clay pigeon shoot on 8th June 2024, combining fun with raising more for the MND association. The disease is back in the public eye due to the recent passing of its patron Rob Burrows CBE on 2nd June 2024 – Read more about the MND Association here

Seven Springs Lodge is well known for mixing the vital work of fundraising into entertaining and engaging events and their charity shoot was no exception.

The event was well supported by over 75 shooters, comprising members of Lodges, family, friends, and several supportive non-shooters, all of whom attended a packed safety briefing at Rubys in Birdlip, each greeted with Breakfast rolls and hot drinks. Following a serious yet entertaining briefing by the well known Peter Trotman, the shooters departed to shoot 50 clays each over 6 varied traps. Novices and experts competed side by side in teams, well instructed by team captains with safety at the forefront of the day. They even had an A&E doctor!

The presentation to the ‘Top Gun’ of Champagne, a trophy and a medal was comically halted for a re-count which, when finally ratified later in the day, found the original winner (Pictured with his spoils) regaining his title. The raffle and subsequent auction of a Bronze Pheasant and proceeds of the event raised a significant sum of money.

This well organised and fun day enjoyed in the beautiful countryside of our Province was  truly a hit with everyone who attended. Congratulations Seven Springs.

We are delighted to share pictures of the event collated, from numerous contributors, by Peter and the team at Seven Springs.
