At the installation meeting of the Lodge of Light & Reflection, ‘Any Other Masonic Business’ was devoted to recalling an Avonmouth stalwart, John Donaldson. Back in 2015, John’s years as the lodge secretary were commemorated by the presentation of an engraved firing glass. John sadly passed to the Grand Lodge Above back in 2020 and Royal Edward Lodge’s Past Master, Allan Sinclair [right], took on the mission of helping John’s widow, Astrid, to find suitable homes for the many mementos and pieces of regalia which John had accumulated. And so it was that Allan returned to the lodge both the firing glass, and John’s Past Master’s jewel. Accepting on behalf of the lodge was the newly installed Ian Davis, who expressed his delight and pride in embracing his first task as Master.
