Provincial Grand Lodge Of Gloucestershire

Safeguard Lodge

No: 9566

Who are we?

Consecrated on the 22nd October 1994. Meeting at the Freemasons’ Hall in Chipping Sodbury.

What we do

The original idea to create a Lodge was conceived when a group of Police Officers, attended an Initiation of a colleague into the St. Alphege Lodge 4095, Bath. The first statement made was “I’m sure we could start a Lodge of our own” and from such little acorns …

Why join us?

Though obviously intending to hold to the fundamental values of Freemasonry, the founders were determined to create a unique atmosphere in the lodge and their workings. To this day, there are several subtle variances in ‘Safeguard Working’ which, whilst never detracting from the basic ritual, serve to make Safeguard that little bit distinct. Above all else, there was, and still is today, a determination to make our meetings enjoyable for members and visitors alike.
