Who are we?

Founded at Guildhall Coffee House, London, on the 25th July 1789, undertone name of “Country Stewards” Lodge No. 540. Removed to Freemasons’ Tavern in 1790., and in 1792 received the number 449. Lapsed in1802 and Warrant re-issued as Berkeley Lodge of Faith & Friendship, meeting at Berkeley. In 1807 added the prefix “Royal”. Took its rank in 1813 as No 509, in 1833 as No 337, and in 1863 as No 270. Meeting at the Berkeley Arms Hotel in Berkeley.
