Originally consecrated in 1794 at Calcutta no. 452.
Meeting at the Freemasons’ Hall in Stapleton.
What we do
As the lodge has such a long history, it has unique traditions that we still maintain today. As
a result, you may see that some parts of the ceremony and the meal afterwards are a little
different to other lodges.
One of those traditions is reciting one of Rudyard Kipling’s poems at our installation
meeting in April and at our Christmas meeting in December. Although official records have
long been lost, it is believed he may have visited the lodge when it was based in India and
the recitals are in recognition of this.
Why join us?
We currently have Lodge members that come from all different backgrounds that include
business owners, office professionals, tradesman, former servicemen and police officers to
name but a few.
