Provincial Grand Lodge Of Gloucestershire

Black Horse of Lombard Street Lodge

No: 4155

Who are we?

Consecrated on the 20th November 1920 at Duke Street, London, Moved to Gloucestershire on the 13th October 1993. Meeting at the Freemasons’ Hall in Downend.

What we do

The current list of professions in the lodge includes airline pilot, financial & mortgage advisors, infrastructure project management, quantity surveyor, management accountant, chartered building engineer, undertaker and bank managers (inevitably!) as well as retired members including a chartered surveyor, headmaster and aircraft engineer.

Why join us?

We are inclusive of all manner of people. We would look at any potential member as lodge “fit” is more important to us than what job they do (or did). The Lodge is small with a total membership is 21, but we are very keen to welcome new members and, in recent years, have seen some success with this as our younger members have brought in their friends. We have a good age spread with about 60% of our membership aged 60 or under and our youngest is 30.
