Lincolnshire needs your help!
I’m writing on behalf of Lincolnshire Freemason Chris Jones to you to solicit the help of the members of every Province with a UK coastline for one of our members. On New Year’s Day, Chris set off from Skegness to walk the entre coastline of Britain.
Why’s he doing that? He is in no doubt that mental health counsellors at the MCF prevented him from taking his own life, and he wants to repay the favour by raising as much money as he can – with a nominal target of £100,000 – and to raise awareness within the Masonic community of the counsellors’ availability. As he says, ‘other people might need the same help I did’.

How you can help: The MCF (Masonic Charitable Foundation) is there for all of us. You can help through sponsorship (there’s a link to his fundraising page below); by inviting others to walk with him for at least part of the way to talk about mental health and share experiences.
Chris is heading north, so as to be in Scotland to have the best chance of decent weather. As his walk progresses I shall be playing my part by alerting each Province that he’ll be with them soon, but his contact details are below, in case you’d like to contact him beforehand.
He’s already had lots of support; including a promise from the PGM of Durham that he’ll be accompanied by Durham Freemasons for every stride of his journey through their Province; by offers of beds for the night; by offers of companionship en route; and by pledges of cash towards his cause. And when he gets home, he hopes to produce a book about his journeys – the walk AND his return to mental health stability.
