One of Kendleshire’s Past Masters is now a Grand Master . . . in Taekwondo . . . having successfully attained the grade of 6th Dan.
Mark James, from Bromley Heath, is a former British heavyweight champion and Welsh Open bronze medallist. He has trained with Olympic team members in several different countries, including the UK, USA, Australia, and Greece.
“I first took up Wado Ryu karate in the 1980s,” he said. “My father was an instructor. Now I’m a trainer at Frontline Martial Arts in Alveston, and specialise in advanced forms and self-defence techniques. I believe the Martial Arts are a state of mind that teach us humility, which I try to instil in the minds of the many ladies-only and junior self-defence classes I teach. We’re all born equal. It’s our mindset that depicts whether we become victims or victors, because we only lose if we quit.”
