Air Scouts benefit from lodge fund-raising
When Bristol Air Scouts discovered their HQ at Headley Park needed a new roof, there was a definite ‘scramble’ to raise the necessary funds. They didn’t need to look too far. The Association Chair is Ian Whittern, and he just happens to simultaneously occupy another chair . . . that of Hambrook Lodge. Through organising various functions in his year in office, Ian has raised impressive sums of money, which have been distributed to a number of worthy causes. So, with the lodge’s blessing, Ian ‘took off’ with £1000 earmarked for the roof-fund, together with a further £800 donation to the hovercraft section.
Ian is pictured here making the official presentation to Group Lead Volunteer, Richard Betteridge.
