Gloucestershire Freemasons Welcome the new Dean

As this was the last annual service held in Gloucester Cathedral for the Gloucestershire Freemasons for Tim Henderson-Ross so it was the first for the new Dean, the Very Reverend Andrew Zihni.

Tim will stand down at the annual Provincial meeting next May having served the Province for ten years. His legacy to the people of Gloucestershire is of course Project 21, for which the members raised over £330,000 in only eighteen months to purchase mobile scanners for Gloucester, Cheltenham and Southmead hospitals (please click on the link below to see the report from the Charity Day).

Andrew was previously Canon Precentor at Southwark Cathedral. He tells us that he and his family are settling into the area very happily which we are delighted to hear. We understand that he is particularly keen to do what he can to help to prevent violence and in particular knife crime amongst the children in our county (please click on the link to one lodge’s donation to the Knife Angel Appeal).
