Singapore Initiation

Freemasonry is often handed down in families from one generation to another so it is always a very special moment for a father when he sees his son become a ‘brother’. Freemasonry being spread throughout the world this particular special moment was just about as far away from home turf as it is possible to be. Singapore is of course rich in its history including Freemasonry, so it was a wonderful and memorable venue to enter Freemasonry. Alan Johnson, well know Freemason on the Wotton scene, told us:

‘On the 24th March this year W Bro Alan Johnson (Gloucestershire Round Table Lodge) attended his son Adam’s initiation at St George’s Lodge No. 1152 in Singapore.

Also attending that evening was Bro Rob Burgon also from the Round Table Lodge who was on holiday in Singapore at the same time.

W Bro Prof Thomas Larry Dawson Jr. and his team performed a superb ceremony which included a rendition of the First degree tracing board by the lodge Entered Apprentices.

The festive board was excellent and we all then continued the fellowship with new friends well into the evening.’
